In the beginning, there was some scrap yarn, some double pointed needles, and a desire to knit socks. There was a sock knitting charity and it was good. Here is my first sock project in progress. Shown is the ribbing. The hardest part is holding all those needles, but as you progress it gets easier.

Here is my son, who is in the ninth grade. He has become a member of the Air Force Junior ROTC. We are very proud of him. He is working very hard to achieve his goal of being promoted two ranks before then end of the second quarter. He took time out to pose for this picture at a drill competition.

I love to knit. One of my favorite projects to do are hats. They're fun, they don't take long and they are very appreciated. I recently knitted 13 hats for charity, but here is my favorite that I kept for myself. It's knit with chunky yarn and looks great. Here is where you can get this great pattern http://www.straw.com/cpy/patterns/hat-earflap-iceland.html
